The central deputation tenure of Shoyabahmed Kalal, Director in NITI Aayog and a 2011 batch Indian Economic Service (IES) officer, has been extended up to 6 December 2027. The extension allows continuity in ongoing policy and programme-related work at the think-tank. Such extensions are generally granted to retain key officers in specialised roles where institutional memory and domain knowledge are critical. Kalal will continue his responsibilities in NITI Aayog during the extended tenure.
