Sudhansh Pant Assigned Additional Charge of DEPwD
Sudhansh Pant, a distinguished 1991-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Rajasthan cadre, has been entrusted with additional administrative responsibilities within the Union Government. Currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Pant will now oversee the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan).
This temporary assignment is effective from September 12, 2026, through October 4, 2026. The appointment facilitates the continued operational continuity of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities during the scheduled leave period of the incumbent, Ms. V. Vidyavathi.

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities plays a critical role in formulating policies and implementing programs aimed at the inclusion and welfare of individuals with disabilities across India.
