Rajendra Kumar Assigned Additional Charge of Inter State Council Secretariat
In a significant administrative development, the Government of India has issued an order assigning the additional charge of the post of Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat (ISCS), to Rajendra Kumar, an IAS officer of the 1992 batch from the Tamil Nadu cadre.
Mr. Kumar, who is currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Border Management, will assume these additional responsibilities during the temporary absence of the incumbent, Ashish Srivastava. The official mandate specifies that the additional charge will remain effective for a ten-day duration, spanning from 11.09.2026 to 20.09.2026, coinciding with Mr. Srivastava’s scheduled period of leave.
The Inter State Council Secretariat plays a pivotal role in fostering coordination and consensus between the Union and State governments, making this interim appointment essential for maintaining the continuity of its administrative functions. Mr. Kumar brings extensive experience to this role, having held various key positions within the civil services throughout his career.
