Who Will Be Madhya Pradesh's Next Intelligence Chief? Four IPS Names in Circulation

Madhya Pradesh's Intelligence Chief post falls vacant on September 1, and four IPS officers' names are currently doing the rounds as possible successors: Anshuman Yadav, Rakesh Gupta, Santosh Singh and Yogesh Chaudhry.

The state Intelligence Chief oversees Madhya Pradesh's police intelligence wing, coordinating threat assessments, VIP security inputs and law-and-order intelligence that feed into the state's broader policing strategy. It is typically held by a senior IPS officer at ADG or IG rank and reports closely to the state's top police leadership and the Home Department.

Among the names circulating, Rakesh Gupta has held multiple senior charges in the state in recent years, including a stint as Additional Director General overseeing a police range, while Anshuman Yadav has served in state sports and youth welfare postings before more recent moves within the force. Santosh Singh and Yogesh Chaudhry's current postings were not specified alongside their names in circulation.

None of the four officers currently hold the Intelligence Chief post, which is vacated from September 1 by the outgoing incumbent.

Madhya Pradesh's police leadership has gone through several rounds of ADG and IG-level reshuffles this year, and the Intelligence Chief appointment is expected to be decided as part of the same ongoing pattern of senior-level postings rather than as a standalone decision.
