Babulal Meena Appointed UP Revenue Board Chairman; Amrit Abhijat Gets Transport Corporation Charge

Babulal Meena, IAS (UP: 1991), has been appointed Chairperson of the Revenue Board in Uttar Pradesh. He is currently Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Horticulture, Food Processing and Sericulture, and will continue to hold that charge.

The Board of Revenue, headquartered in Prayagraj, is the highest revenue court in the state. It hears appeals and revisions in land revenue and tenancy matters, and its chairperson heads the revenue administration's quasi-judicial wing.

Meena belongs to the 1991 batch of the UP cadre and holds ACS rank. He now carries two charges at once: the Revenue Board chair and the horticulture, food processing and sericulture departments.

In the same reshuffle, Amrit Abhijat, ACS, Tourism, Culture, Religious Endowment and Transport, has been given additional charge as Chairperson, UP Transport Corporation. Abhijat already holds four departments, and the corporation chair adds a fifth responsibility.

Both orders assign additional charge to serving Additional Chief Secretaries rather than creating new full-time postings.
