UP Posts IAS Officer Anil Dhingra as Housing Commissioner

The Uttar Pradesh government has transferred and posted IAS officer Anil Dhingra as Housing Commissioner of the Housing and Development Board, Director of Urban Land Ceiling, and Secretary of the Housing and Urban Planning Department. Dhingra is a 2008-batch IAS officer of the UP cadre.

The UP Housing and Development Board is the state's principal agency for public housing schemes and urban land development, and the Housing Commissioner post carries charge over its project pipeline as well as the state's urban land ceiling matters, which cover disputes and compliance tied to land-holding limits in urban areas.

Dhingra holds all three linked charges — Housing Commissioner, Director of Urban Land Ceiling, and Secretary of the Housing and Urban Planning Department — reflecting how closely the state has tied housing policy, land ceiling administration and the board's operational leadership into a single officer's charge.

He was serving as Divisional Commissioner, Gorakhpur, before this transfer, according to the state's broader reshuffle order issued the same day.

The move from Divisional Commissioner of a large eastern UP division to a state-level housing and land charge in Lucknow is part of a wider 13-officer reshuffle the state government carried out on the same day.

The Housing and Urban Planning Department has been central to the state's affordable housing push and urban expansion projects, giving the incoming Secretary oversight of both policy and the board's project execution.

The transfer was issued as part of the state's reshuffle order dated Tuesday.
