ACC Approves Inter-Cadre Transfers of Two IAS Officers

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the inter-cadre transfer of two IAS officers. Carolyn Chingthianmawi (Telangana: 2024) moves to the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, and Abhishek Singh (West Bengal: 2007) moves to the Rajasthan cadre.

Inter-cadre transfers are exceptions to the rule that an IAS officer serves in the cadre to which they are allotted. They are made on grounds set out in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) guidelines, such as marriage between officers of different cadres and medical or disability reasons.

Abhishek Singh's transfer is under the PH (Physically Handicapped) policy. Chingthianmawi, a 2024-batch officer, is one of the more junior officers to receive such a move.

Singh, a 2007-batch officer, will serve in Rajasthan after his time in the West Bengal cadre.

Each officer joins the new cadre at the seniority position determined under the transfer rules.
