Major Reshuffle Sees 29 IPS Officers Transferred In Haryana
Haryana has transferred 29 IPS officers in a major reshuffle, with new charges at the ADGP, SP and Commandant levels across the state police force.
As many as 29 IPS officers have been transferred in a major reshuffle of Haryana's police force, touching ADGP-level charges at state police headquarters as well as SP and Commandant postings across districts and specialised units.
Among the senior-most changes, Amitabh Singh Dhillon, a 1997-batch IPS officer serving as ADGP for Modernisation and Welfare in Panchkula, has been given additional charge of ADGP, Emergency Response Support System, and ADGP, Trafficking and Highways, consolidating three portfolios under one officer. Vikas Arora, 1998 batch, ADGP Administration at Police Headquarters, has been entrusted with additional charge of ADGP, Cyber, Telecom and IT, along with Director, State Crime Records Bureau, while being relieved of his earlier Traffic and Telecom charges.
Several 2014-batch officers see lateral movement between specialised units: Rajesh Kumar moves from SP, Special Crime Branch, to SP, Community Policing and Outreach, Gurugram; Bhupinder Singh shifts from SP, Panipat, to SP, Security, CID; and Sumit Kumar moves from SP, Bhiwani, to SP, Special Task Force.
Ashwin, a 2006-batch officer who has returned from a Government of India deputation, has been posted as IGP, Karnal Range, with additional charge of IGP, Haryana Armed Police, Madhuban, marking his re-entry into state cadre postings after a central assignment.
The reshuffle's scale, covering nearly 30 officers from the 1997 to 2025 batches, points to a broader realignment of Haryana Police's command structure rather than a narrow set of individual transfers, with movement concentrated in the CID, Special Task Force, ATS and district SP postings that form the backbone of the state's law-and-order apparatus.
Newer entrants from the 2022 to 2025 batches have been placed largely in ASP and DSP-equivalent charges, including Deepika Aggarwal joining as ASP, Rewari, and Karan Goel moving from DCP, West Gurugram, to SP, Karnal, giving the force a fresh cohort of officers now holding independent district-level charges.
The transfer orders take effect with immediate effect, covering ADGP, IGP, SP and Commandant-level postings across Haryana Police as per the notification issued by the state government.
