Preetinder Singh Padda has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for a four-year tenure, and authorities have directed his immediate release to take up the central deputation assignment. Padda is a 2013-batch officer of the Indian Posts and Telecommunications Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TA&FS). His appointment strengthens the DPIIT's administrative capacity as the department continues to drive key economic initiatives.
