In a move to promote wellness, NALCO has developed ‘Prakriti Yoga Bhoomi’, a dedicated yoga point within the lush surroundings of Mahatma Gandhi Park at Puri. To mark the 11th International Day of Yoga, the dedicated yoga space was inaugurated today by Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, in the presence of Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattanayak, Director (HR), underscoring NALCO’s commitment to promoting wellness and holistic health among communities. Developed by NALCO, Mahatma Gandhi Park in Puri has already become a popular destination for both youth and senior citizens, who frequent the area for jogging, morning walks, and evening strolls. The addition of ‘Prakriti Yoga Bhoomi’ has been warmly received by regular visitors, who have expressed their appreciation for the serene, natural setting that now encourages yoga practice as part of a healthier lifestyle. In line with the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, the dignitaries also planted saplings within the park premises, promoting collective action toward environmental preservation and expressing gratitude to Mother Earth. Earlier in the day, NALCO employees across the country joined the national celebrations of the International Day of Yoga. A series of Mass yoga camps were organized at the Company’s Corporate Headquarters in Bhubaneswar, as well as at operating units including the Smelter and Power Complex at Angul and the Mines & Refinery Complex at Damanjodi. Yoga sessions were also held at NALCO’s regional offices located across the country and at the Port facilities in Vizag. More than 3,000 yoga enthusiasts including employees, family members, CISF personnel, School children and associates enthusiastically participated in these camps, performing various asanas and taking a pledge to incorporate yoga into their daily routines, reaffirming the Company’s dedication to physical and mental well-being.
