JNPA Reports 9.14% Growth in February 2025, Handling 616,164 TEUs

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India’s Best-Performing Port, handled 616,164 TEUs of containers in February 2025, an increase of 9.14% compared to February 2024. From April 2024 to February 2025, JNPA handled 6,629,242 TEUs of container traffic, an increase of 13.60% compared to the corresponding period in the previous financial year.

 

Highlights of Feb-2025:

 

1. In February 2025, JNPA handled 616,164 TEUs of containers and 7.56 Million Tonnes of total cargo, which is 9.14% and 2.09% higher, respectively, than the traffic in February 2024. 

2. During February 2025, JNPA handled 534 container rakes and 86,142 TEUs as compared to 526 rakes and 84,350 TEUs in February 2024.

 

Highlights of FY 2024-2025:

 

1. From April 2024 to February 2025, JNPA handled 6,629,242 TEUs of containers and 83.85 Million Tonnes of total cargo, which is 13.60% and 7.43% higher, respectively, than the corresponding period in the previous financial year. 

2. From Apr-2024 to Feb-2025, JNPA handled 6,164 container rakes and 978,130 TEUs, compared to 5,864 rakes and 935,503 TEUs during the corresponding period in the previous financial year. 
    

With a focus on operational efficiency and trade-centric services, JNPA continues to propel India's maritime trade growth. 

 

About JNPA: 

The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) is one of the premier container-handling ports in India. Since its inception on May 26, 1989, JNPA has transformed from a bulk cargo terminal into the premier container port in the country. 

Currently, JNPA operates five container terminals - NSFT, NSICT, NSIGT, BMCT and APMT. The Port also has a Shallow Water Berth for general cargo. A Liquid Cargo Terminal present at the JNPA Port is managed by the BPCL-IOCL consortium. Additionally, the newly constructed coastal berth links other Indian ports and facilitates enhancing the traffic of coastal containers. 

Nestled across 277 hectares of land, JNPA also operates a meticulously designed multi-product SEZ, with state-of-the-art infrastructure, to boost export-oriented industries in India.

JNPA is also developing an all-weather, deep-draft, greenfield port at Vadhvan, in Maharashtra. It is poised to be among the top 10 ports globally and will be 100% green port since its inception.
