Airports Authority of India Celebrates 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Zeal and Enthusiasm

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) commemorated the 79th Independence Day with immense pride and patriotic fervor at the Delhi Air Traffic Services (DATS) Complex, New Delhi, while actively participating in the Government of India’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Shri Vipin Kumar (IAS), Chairman, AAI, hoisted the National Flag in the esteemed presence of dignitaries, including Shri M. Suresh, Member (Air Navigation Services) and Dr. Sharad Kumar, Member (Operations) along with senior AAI officials. The ceremony commenced with the National Flag hoisting, followed by the National Anthem and a dignified Guard of Honour presented by a joint contingent of CISF and AAI Fire Service personnel, reflecting the spirit of national unity and pride. In his address, Shri Vipin Kumar acknowledged the historic significance of 15th August and paid tribute to the great freedom fighters whose sacrifices made India's independence possible. He also extended heartfelt greetings to all on the occasion of Independence Day. He emphasized that celebrating this day is a tribute to their unwavering courage and determination.

 

The Chairman also highlighted AAI’s vital role in transforming India’s aviation infrastructure. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to national progress through infrastructure creation, operational excellence, continuous innovation, and strong dedication to cater the nation’s aviation needs. As part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative, AAI encouraged all employees and citizens to proudly display the National Flag at their homes and workplaces. This initiative fostered a deeper patriotic connection with the tricolour and was embraced enthusiastically across AAI offices. The DATS and NATS Complexes were festively decorated with tricolour- themed lights, kites, balloons, floral displays, and rangoli, creating a vibrant and patriotic atmosphere. A special highlight of the event was an energetic drum performance by NCC cadets from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rangpuri, which added youthful energy and spirit to the celebration. The Independence Day celebration was successfully organized under the leadership of Shri D. K. Gautam, Regional Executive Director – Northern Region, AAI, with the active support of senior officers and staff.
