The Kerala government on Monday issued posting orders for seven IAS officers of the 2023 and 2024 batches, appointing them Sub Collectors in Revenue Divisions across the state.

The Sub Collector is Kerala's frontline revenue and magisterial post below the District Collector, with charge over a revenue division comprising several taluks. The role carries responsibility for land revenue administration, disaster response coordination and law-and-order duties as executive magistrate — making it the first posting where a Kerala-cadre IAS officer holds independent territorial charge.

S. Mohana Priya, of the 2023 batch, has been posted to Kollam. The remaining six are from the 2024 batch: Ehteda Mufassir to Thrissur, Parvathy Gopakumar to Thiruvalla, Sivasakthivel C to Alappuzha, Swati Mohan Rathod to Thiruvananthapuram and Ravi Meena to Thalassery.

Sakshi Mohan, also of the 2023 batch, moves to Kottayam as Sub Collector, while Archana P P of the 2024 batch has been posted to Perinthalmanna. Both batches had completed their induction training and district attachment before this round of postings.

The spread across eight revenue divisions, from the southern coastal belt to the Malabar region, follows Kerala's standard practice of distributing newly inducted officers across geographically and administratively distinct divisions rather than clustering them in any one district.

Sub Collectors in Kerala are typically judged in their first posting on land dispute resolution timelines and disaster-preparedness coordination, particularly ahead of the monsoon season, which shapes their subsequent postings within the state cadre.

The posting orders were issued by the Kerala government on Monday and take effect immediately.
